Access key: from the Telegram bot to a working connection

What a Happ key is and how it works

A key in Happ is not an account password but a subscription string (subscription URL) or a direct link to a configuration in the form vless://. Encoded inside it are the server address, port, protocol, and the encryption and masking parameters. The app passes this data to the Xray core, and it is the core that establishes the connection based on it.

There are two formats you'll encounter in practice. A subscription link is the preferred option: with it, Happ automatically pulls in an up-to-date server list and updates parameters if the provider changes them. A single configuration is exactly one server with no auto-update; it's handy to use as a backup.

A single key is usually tied to your subscription rather than to a specific device. This means the same link can be added both on a phone and on a computer, provided your plan allows the required number of simultaneous connections.

Where to get a Happ key

The key and subscription are issued by the service's Telegram bot — this is the only legitimate source of access. In the bot you choose a plan, pay for it, and receive a ready-made subscription link that you just need to copy. The bot also sends a QR code in case it's more convenient to add the key with a camera.

If you want to test speed and stability first, the bot usually offers trial access. When people search for "happ keys free," they mean exactly this test key: it's issued for a limited period and works the same as a paid one, only with a shorter time limit. It's an honest way to check the app before paying — without dubious keys from someone else's giveaways.

Don't use keys from public channels and collections of "free subscriptions": such links are unstable, get disabled quickly, and come with no support at all. Working access is only the official kind — paid or trial, obtained personally in the bot.

How to add a key to the Happ app

First copy the key from the bot — usually it's enough to tap the link you were sent, and it lands in your clipboard. Then open Happ and press the "+" button at the top of the screen. The app will offer several methods: paste from the clipboard, scan a QR code, or enter the data manually.

For a subscription link, choose the add-subscription option — that way Happ remembers the source and can update the servers. After adding, pull the list down or tap the refresh icon to fetch the current nodes. Once the servers appear in the list, pick the nearest or fastest one and press the connect button.

If a camera is more convenient, open the QR code in the bot, choose scanning in Happ, and point the camera — the key will be added automatically. On a PC (Windows) the order is the same: "+", paste from the clipboard, refresh the subscription, choose a server. After the first successful connection the app remembers the configuration, and there's no need to enter the key again.

Why the key doesn't work

The most common cause is that the key was copied incompletely. A subscription link is long, and if the tail was lost during copying or an extra space got in at the beginning, Happ won't be able to parse it. Delete the added profile and paste the key again, copying it from the bot in full.

The second cause is an expired subscription. If the period of trial or paid access has ended, the server stops accepting the connection, even though the key formally remains in the app. Check the subscription status in the bot and renew it if needed. A manual subscription refresh in Happ also helps: the server may have changed, and the old address no longer responds.

Also check the basics: is there internet without VPN, is the app version current, and isn't an antivirus or firewall blocking the connection on the PC. Updating, renewing and transferring the key

A subscription link lasts a long time: as long as your plan is active, the same key keeps working, and the server list inside it updates automatically. Run a manual subscription refresh periodically — this guarantees that you connect to working nodes rather than disabled ones.

Renewal is handled in the same Telegram bot: after payment, access via your key resumes, and there's usually no need to add the link to Happ again. If the bot sent a new key, simply replace the old profile with it the same way — via "+" and paste from the clipboard.

To transfer access to another device, don't invent new keys: open the bot on the phone or PC you need and add the same subscription link. Just keep an eye on the simultaneous-connection limit of your plan so the devices don't kick each other off.
