There are times when tunnelling your entire device through a VPN is overkill — pushing just a single browser or app through the server is all it takes to open a blocked resource. That's exactly what Happ's Proxy mode delivers: it stands up a local proxy powered by Xray-core and links only the apps you pick to it. Here's how to get it running on both mobile and desktop.
What to have ready first
You'll want an active key or subscription link — issued through the Happ service Telegram bot — plus the app already installed. If Happ isn't on your device yet, pick it up at /en/setup/ and add your key exactly as you would for a standard VPN connection.
Flipping the app into Proxy mode
The steps look much the same on every platform:
- Open Happ and confirm your key has been added and is working.
- Locate the mode toggle in settings and choose Proxy in place of VPN.
- The app fires up a local Xray-core proxy server and shows the address and port you connect to.
- Visit any site that reveals your IP address — if it's all configured correctly, it'll report the server's address rather than yours.

With it you switch proxying on and off in a single click and attach specific apps without keying the address and port into every program's settings by hand. Attaching a single app to the proxy
Grab the local proxy's address and port from Happ and drop them into the network settings of whichever browser or app you want to open blocked resources with — or lean on the Happ Proxy Utility's automatic binding where your platform supports it. Everything else on your device carries on using your normal internet connection and skips the server entirely.
Proxy won't connect — what to inspect
Nine times out of ten it's either a stale key or an app that leans on its own network settings rather than the system proxy. Verify your key is still active in the Telegram bot and re-check that particular app's settings. If it's still stubborn, head to /en/support/not-working/.
